Jennifer Martin
Jennifer Martin is a 1984 graduate of Salem High School. After graduating from IU Southeast, she taught at Jeffersonville High School, Medora High School, Orleans Jr-Sr High School (where she became a counselor), and was a college counselor at Trinity High School in Louisville. In 2008, she was hired as counselor at Salem High School where she works with juniors and seniors. Passionate about helping students figure out what they want to do after high school, seeing her students have their goals come true if one of her proudest moments. A strong believer that not everyone needs to go to college, she often spends parts of her summer as an extern with local businesses learning about opportunities for her students. While at SHS, she has coached 6th grade girls’ basketball and middle school golf and is the sponsor for Tri-Hi-Y. She enjoys working with the kids (and grandkids) of the people she went to school with. She has volunteered for the PGA and has worked two PGA championships and the Ryder Cup. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, reading, and playing golf.
Advice to students: Always over prepare, so you're never under prepared!
