One of the most popular events of the school year is coming up at Salem Middle School. The annual talent show, where students show off their talents to the teachers and their friends, will be held Friday, Dec. 15, in the afternoon.
Organizer English teacher Amy Abner said the talent show has been going on for 30 years. She has been in charge of the event for the last 10 years.
¨I love encouraging our students to allow others to see them do something they enjoy and are good at,¨ said Abner. “It takes a lot of confidence to get up in front of the whole school and show everyone your talent.¨
She said she loves all of the talents that the students perform.
“It is really hard to get up in front of an auditorium full of your peers. I love the confidence that the talent show helps our students build,¨ said Abner. “It gives students an opportunity to show off their talents that other students will remember.”
One of those students is Allison Akers, who Abner said did an aerial skills performance last year that she will never forget.
The emcee this year is Mrs. Autumn Hall.
