SMS FCA will hold See You at the Pole tomorrow morning. We'd love for everyone to join us!

Students in Mrs. Godfrey's sixth-grade math classes have been working on the Order of Operations in expressions. Today, they visited the STEAM lab to complete a hands-on Order of Operations activity.

The cross country team had a great race at Crawford County last night! The girls finished 6th out of 12 and the boys finished 8th out of 15. Lots of improved times and PRs! Congratulations!

The first FCA meeting will be this Thursday morning at 7:40 a.m. in the STEAM lab. Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a Christian Club that is open for all students to attend, even if they are not an athlete. Please join us each month for a positive message! This month, everyone in attendance will receive a "The Four" bracelet. We will be discussing what FCA is all about, as well as the simple message of the bracelet.

The 6-8 grade Language Arts classes will read The Nutcracker this holiday season. As a culminating activity, they will go to The Nutcracker Ballet in Louisville. In order to offset the cost of this trip for students, the department will hold fundraisers. The first one will be a Back to School Tailgate Party before the football game on September 19. The students will be able to purchase concessions, play tons of games and contests and dance. The tickets for the dance will be $5 and can be purchased from your student’s Language Arts teacher.

SMS announces Students of the Month and Staff of the Month for August! Congratulations to everyone! It's been a great start to the school year!

Students in Mrs. Godfrey's math classes have been learning about decimals. Today, they worked on prices at restaurants.

Mrs. Stewart's language arts classes have been doing a project called It's Me, Hi this week. Students were to make a poster to reflect the things that make them unique and let their classmates get to know them better.

A big thank you to Mosier Family Chiropractic for donating hygiene kits for every middle school student!

Seventh grade students in Mrs. Morris’s Business in Technology classes visited the STEAM lab to code micro:bits. They coded hearts, their initials, and added music. Have we mentioned how much we LOVE our steam lab?
